Ferrofluid is iron particles suspended in a liquid, i forget if it is oil based or water based. But my best bet would be that the fluid is oil based, although its not impossible for it to be water based. its harmless to touch, i wouldnt advise injesting it as i dont know the complete makeup of the fluid. it WILL stain clothing and skin.

Your run on sentence has me confused!! I have no idea what you mean! Punctuation, please!I have no connection to the people who sell this. I just thought people would like to know where to get some. Judging from the comments, not many people have ever played with any. If you have a problem with the comments, maby you shouldn't read them.

BEWARE!! This stuff is VERY messy, it is just like motor oil when it is not next to a magnet and will stain everything! When it is stuck to a magnet, it feels like a firm yet squishy jell.

bought some of this fluid from unitednucleardotcom, they sell it in vials from 4ml($3.00us)to 175ml($65.00us), as well as magnets of various sizes. Some of them are HUGE and come with strong warnings not to even walk through a room with a T.V. or monitor while carrying one of these, or it will suck the picture right off!!! If you are holding one with your credit card in your wallet, it will whipe it clean from 20 feet away!!

well the magnets are under the plastic cup. now there magnetism would last for longer than you would even hope to live. i dont know the exact life of the magnets, but unless something really disturbs them its 100's of millions of years i believe.i think the ferrofluid (oil with tiny metal iron shavings mixed in) would seperate before the magnet lost power.so you would have iron particles stuck to a bolt with oil in the cup.

forever, or until you remove the magnets that are holding it's shape.

Some replys from the autor of the video:The camera auto focus would not work on the ferrofluid, and this was not discovered when filming the first part of the video - sorry! If you touch it, the nono-scale rerrous particles will fit into the structure of your skin, permanently staining the skin black. this will last until the layers of skin wear off over timeThe two strong magnets ate at the bottom of the large bolt

where are the "two strong magnets?"
